Castle Rock is an upcoming American psychological horror web television series created for Hulu . It is based on the stories of Stephen King , intertwining characters and themes from the fictional town of Castle Rock .

Production
A teaser trailer was released on the internet on February 17, 2017 [3] and Hulu confirmed four days later that it had committed to a 10-episode first season of Castle Rock . It is the first of a series of works by Maine Woodland to explore the history of the city of Maine. [4]
The teaser trailer mentions titles of and characters from a number of Stephen King novels, Including: It , Dolores Claiborne , Needful Things , ‘Salem’s Lot , Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption , Dreamcatcher , Night Shift , The Green Mile , Misery , Hearts In Atlantis , The Shining , The Mangler , Four Night Midnight , Different Seasons , Nightmares & Dreamscapes , and The Night Flier .
JJ Abrams will serve as executive producer of Castle Rock , along with Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason who also serve as writers. A cast has not been announced. Production for the new series is expected to begin in August 2017, though a release date has not been confirmed. [5] [6]
