Dinotrux

Dinotrux is an American computer-animated web television series. It is based on Chris Gall’s illustrated children’s book series, which features a fictional prehistoric world. [3] The series debuted on August 14, 2015 is Netflix , [1] with the second season Following on March 11, 2016, [4] and the third on October 7, 2016. [5] and the fourth on March 31, 2017. [6]

DreamWorks Animation first optioned rights to Dinotrux in March 2009, a month before the first book was published, with an intention to develop a computer-animated film. [7]

Plot

A prehistoric world, set in the Mechazoic era, [1] is populated by hybrid dinosaur-construction vehicles called Dinotrux, and by reptile-reptools. [3] Two best friends, Ty, a Tyrannosaurus Trux, and Revvit, a Reptool, must team up with other inhabitants of the world to defend their community and their work from an evil Tyrannosaurus Trux, named D-Structs. [3]

Major characters

  • Ty (voiced by Andrew Francis ) [8] is the leader of the Dinotrux. [9] He is a Tyrannosaurus Trux – a mix of a Tyrannosaurus rex and a megaton excavator . [1] [10]
  • Revvit (voiced by Richard Ian Cox ) [8] is a yellow and green Rotilian Reptool – hand lizard and part rotary drill . [1] He is Ty’s best friend. His tongue is a tape measure . [11]
  • Garby (voiced by Trevor Devall ) [8] is a dark green Stegarbasaurus – hand Stegosaurus and part garbage truck . He enjoys eating rocks and extracting their ore. He can also shoot spikes like ninja stars . [1] [12] [13]
  • Dozer (voiced by Brian Drummond ) [8] is an orange Dozeratops – part Triceratops and part bulldozer . He is described as a “cranky hothead” but a true friend with a big heart. [1] [14]
  • Ton-Ton (voiced by Matt Hill ) [8] is a blue Anklyodump – part Ankylosaurus and part dump truck . [1] He is described as a ” daredevil who is always ready for non-stop action and loves to tear it up”. [15]
  • Skya (voiced by Ashleigh Ball ) [8] is an orange Craneosaur – part Brachiosaurus and part construction crane . [1] [16] She is described as tough, strong, and sassy. [17]
  • D-Structs (voiced by Paul Dobson ) [8] is a metallic-colored Tyrannosaurus Trux – hand Tyrannosaurus and part excavator [1] [10] He dislikes Ty That has-beens Taking Over as the ruler of the crater. [18]
